Rally's August Update

This month’s Rally updates make research faster, clearer, and a little more fun. You’ll find AI-generated interview transcripts and summaries, new ways to add images and GIFs to screener and survey questions, and a calendar view that helps troubleshoot blocked sessions at a glance. We’ve also added easier budget funding options, an invoices tab for clean tracking, and a preview of matrix questions coming soon. 

‍Interview transcripts and summaries 📝

Capture, revisit, and share key moments from your research sessions. Toggle on Observer Rooms for the study to let the Rally notetaker bot join your interview. After the interview ends, you’ll get an AI-generated transcript and summary that you can search, scan, and copy in a single click – perfect for fast analysis and sharing insights.

Add images, GIFs and links to screener and survey questions

Visual and interactive elements help participants better understand context, reduce misinterpretation, and provide feedback that’s grounded in the real experience you’re testing.

Here are some common use cases: 

• Show a mockup and ask participants for first impressions or preferences between variations.
• Embed a GIF of an interaction flow to test comprehension or response.
• Show two designs side-by-side and ask which feels more intuitive or appealing.
• Add a link to a Figma, Miro, or prototype environment for deeper exploration and feedback.

See your availability at a glance

Ever wondered why it looks like an interview session is blocked for a participant? The ‘Troubleshoot Calendar’ button within each study gives you a visual view of your availability, so you can spot exactly when and why certain time slots are blocked. Whether it’s overlapping sessions, holidays, or settings that limit bookings, you’ll see it all laid out in one place, making it easy to adjust your schedule.

Easier ways to fuel your budgets 🤑

We’ve made it simpler to fund and track your budgets in Rally. Here’s what’s new:

💳 Pay by invoice or credit card

When you add funds to a budget, you can now choose between:

• Pay by invoice – Get an official PDF invoice sent to your email (and CC anyone you choose). The invoice includes all billing details and payment options (bank transfer, credit card, WeChat Pay, Cash app, and more).
• Pay by credit card – Still available for fast, direct payments.

🧾 Invoices tab in Budgets

You’ll now see a dedicated Invoices tab in Budgets. Here you can:

• View all past and pending invoices for each budget
• Download receipts anytime for your records
• Filter invoices by specific budget for easier tracking

This update gives you a clear paper trail and makes it easy to share billing info with your finance team.

Matrix questions for screeners and surveys are now available! Collect side-by-side ratings in a single, tidy question. Each statement can be mapped to Rally properties for clean, structured data that’s ready for analysis.
