Hot new features for a cooler workflow ☀️

Summer might be heating up, but your research ops are about to get way more chill. This month, we dropped some powerful updates to help you move faster, stay organized, and keep your team in sync. From a brand-new Rally homepage and time-saving shortcuts to scheduled emails and auto-managed study quotas, everything is designed to make research smoother and more scalable – no sweat.
Watch the 2 minute recap below.
Home sweet home (page) 🏠
The new Rally home page gives you a focused view of what’s next and what needs your attention. See your upcoming interviews at a glance, keep track of active studies you’re a part of, and use the new search bar to quickly jump to popular pages or take action like creating a new study or building a sign-up form. We have big plans for this page! Stay tuned. 👀

Your new fave keyboard shortcut
With Command (or Control) + K, you can quickly navigate to popular pages in Rally, or start quick actions like building a sign-up form or creating a new study.

Create your own custom emails
You can now create and save custom study messages directly in the study builder. This highly requested feature makes it easy to send repeatable messages like nudges, reminders, consent notes, and more, without rewriting them each time. Use consistent, pre-approved language across email batches, streamline collaboration with teammates, and support self-serve research with messages that are ready to go when you are.

Schedule your next email campaign
Now you can schedule recruitment emails to send at the right time, no matter where your participants are or when you’re working. Whether you're preparing a study in advance or reaching people in different time zones, this update makes it easy to plan ahead. You can schedule bulk emails, adjust the send time if plans change, or cancel before they go out.

Here are some creative ways scheduled emails can be used:
- When it comes to the perfect time to send an email, some say early morning is best, others swear by 8pm when the doom scrolling begins. 🤷♀️ Try scheduling emails at different times and time zones, and A/B test to see what works best for your users.
- Send out study invites in batches - invite 10 people today, 10 people tomorrow, etc, etc, until your study is full. This helps keep participants out of cooldown periods when it’s not necessary.
- Upcoming interview? Schedule reminders to go out 1 day before, 1 hour before, and 10 minutes before to reduce no-shows.
Auto-assign and auto-close Study Quotas
Last month, we introduced Study Quotas to help you manage participant groups more easily.
This month, we added an update so that you can automatically assign participants to specific quotas based on their screener responses. Toggle on “auto-close” to automatically close a quota once the required number of participants have either scheduled or completed the study. If someone cancels or no-shows, their spot is reopened so you can keep your study on track without extra manual work.

Search by participant ID
You can now search for and filter participants using their unique Participant ID. This is especially helpful when personal information is masked based on your user role. Even without access to PII, you can stay on track, find the right participants, and keep research moving forward.
Participant notes
You can now add internal notes directly in your study participant tables, making it easier to stay organized and aligned with your team. The new Notes column is perfect for capturing quick updates, special instructions, or session-specific context.
